A biographical title sequence designed to explore Millie’s character and her evolving relationships with the people around her.
Millie and Hibiscus live on opposing sides of the law. Their beliefs, loyalties and daily realities pull them in different directions, creating friction and testing their childhood bond.

Clear divisions become blurred as boundaries become harder to define. The show hinges around conflict between the characters, their motives and moralities, as well as the societal issues that permeate the narrative.

The distances between characters are filled with raw emotion, which is represented by an expressive, human-made paint texture, bursting with colour and energy.

The figures seen within this texture are a representation of the loss of life within the narrative of the series, and also add to the feeling of the sequence navigating dreams or memories.
Each of these silhouettes tells a story, many of them being children — a nod towards Millie’s inability to let go of her traumatic past.

The graphic treatment from the title sequence was also applied to the show key art, to be used in the launch campaign across various placements and formats.
